Clogging

Course Description

Learn traditional, contemporary & buck dancing, and clogging choreography. Whether child or adult, beginner or advanced, our instructor will guide you through the steps of this fun and popular dance style.

Arts Alive students will be encouraged to:

Learn the basic clogging steps, later advancing to more advanced steps like the cowboy, rocking chair, and buck dancing

Listen to distinguish between the upbeat and downbeat of music

Discover the history of clogging

Learn to read a cue sheet

Learn movement during dance, such as lines and circles

Explore some mountain/hoedown style dances

Express their own creativity by choreographing some of their own steps

Practice using the entire stage area to present a dance
